A Visit to the Sick is a Visit to Christ
Reflecting God’s love
St. Verena Service is a Christ-centered ministry of the Coptic Orthodox Church. We visit the sick, elderly, and isolated—offering prayer, comfort, and fellowship in the spirit of love.

Who We Are
We are a church-based service, not a charity or organisation. Our purpose is spiritual, and our work is grounded in prayer, humility, and the teachings of Christ.
- Operates under the spiritual oversight of the Diocese of Sydney
- Led by clergy and coordinated by parish volunteers
- Rooted in the Coptic Orthodox tradition of mercy and pastoral care
What We Do
Our ministry focuses on regular visitation to those who are often forgotten—patients in hospitals, residents in aged care, and individuals facing isolation.
Each visit is offered as a quiet act of Christian love. We:
- Provide a listening ear and gentle companionship
- Pray with patients or read from Scripture if welcomed
- Offer handmade cards or simple tokens of encouragement

Why It Matters
The sick and elderly may receive medical care, but spiritual support is often missing. A visit, a smile, or a short prayer may seem simple—but for someone suffering in silence, it can be life-giving.
“Even if we say nothing, our presence says, ‘You are not forgotten.’”
Our Core Values
The spirit of our service is shaped by:

Compassion
We feel with others and walk beside them

Presence
We bring peace and comfort simply by showing up

Reverence
We treat each soul we visit as the image of God

Discipleship
We teach the next generation through action

Faith
We believe small acts carry eternal weight
